To everyone who helped us get these courts fixed up....we're slow, but we are mailing out personalized letters Monday. Eventually it will be nice to have an official ribbon cutting once the final touches are done. We are EXTREMELY fortunate to live in a town with such positive folks/businesses/community leaders! Hopefully your lead will be followed in other cities where polo is striving to gain acceptance.

After some very long months of scrambling the new court is almost finished! Americorps came out with two dozen or more people on Thursday and rocked out about 80% of the boards and the rest is getting done today with their help and many of our players. These boards are tight and should last us a very long time. Notice the cool bike-stand / flower planters going in near the front entrance..way nice.
Many thanks to everyone who backed us up, donated with money/work/and materials. We are very lucky to have such positive community leaders/business owners/orginizations/Parks services/bicycle advocates in Little Rock!

MacArthur Park Group Meeting results

Pete, Adam & I went to the War Memorial Museum for the MacArthur Park Group meeting & made some contacts. The group seemed very willing to help us & Keith from The Clinton Foundation/Americorps is coming @ 6:30 pm for Monday Polo with an associate to get a feel for what needs to be done to get our courts fixed up. I think we should be able to get donations/scrap materials to get both courts boarded up & Keith says he has plenty of people who can help in construction.
Anyone who wants to go to these meetings is welcome..maybe we should keep it to 3 or 4 representatives at a time tho. We're possibly going to get some sort of posterboard presentation worked up for next time to give them a better idea of what it is that we are doing. This is pretty awesome...get thinking about where we can get donations/recycled materials/scrap for the courts OK?
